Marine Metallurgical Consultants Limited (MMC) was founded in 2006 by David Hughes. David has provided expert metallurgical failure investigation services to many of the major players in the marine industry, ship owners, ship managers, charterers, cargo owners, salvors and all the services that serve them, P&I Clubs, Underwriters, Law Firms, and has done so for over twenty years. David has provided expert witness services for trial, arbitrations and mediation both in the UK and abroad. Countries were expert services have been provided include, England and Wales (civil trial and arbitration), Germany (arbitration), USA (civil trial and arbitration), Norway (arbitration) and Yemen (trial).

These services have required extensive travel around the world including throughout Europe and the other continents including Eastern Europe, Asia, Middle East, Africa and North and South America. Please visit the Experience page for examples of instructions undertaken.

The principles and modes of metallurgical failures are similar in all fields of industry and MMC Ltd also regularly provide metallurgical services for land based matters including petrochemical, paper and pulp, car industry and smaller fabrication and construction works.
